A new gift shop to explore

For immediate release

Montréal, March 6, 2013 – The all-new Museum gift shop is now located upstairs in the Mariners’ House, the Museum’s fifth building. Its light-filled premises offer a superb view of the Museum’s main building and the Old Port. The gift shop is an integral part of the Pointe-à-Callière experience, and over the years has become an essential stop in Old Montréal. Just like the Museum itself, the gift shop focuses on helping visitors discover, learn about and appreciate history, archaeology and heritage.

Full of delightful finds
The gift shop has a great selection of goods and gifts for every taste and budget, with decorative accessories and art, original and sometimes exclusive jewellery, and local products including Native creations and toys. It also has a wide selection of books on Montréal and Quebec history and archaeology, as well as many high-quality publications on the different exhibitions that have been presented at the Museum over the years, and children’s books. Most of the publications produced by Pointe-à-Callière since it opened are available at the gift shop, including Yours Truly, Montréal; Samurai. Exquisite Warriors; Les Étrusqes – Civilisation de l’Italie ancienne; and Sainte-Catherine Street. At the Heart of Montréal Life, to name only a few. Corporate gifts of all kinds are also popular.

Gifts on exhibition-related themes
In addition, the Museum’s gift shop regularly updates its offerings with items connected to the different exhibitions at Pointe-à-Callière, a great way to wrap up a visit and find items related to various cultures and themes. There’s always something new at the gift shop!
